Regression equations were derived from the content prediction of total digestible nutrients (TDN) from the starch and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) contents in Holstein Steer feed. The experiment was carried out using of 18 kinds of Holstein Steer feed with a roughage ratio of 25% to 100% (FM . W), a TDN content ratio of 50% to 80% (DM), a starch content ratio of 1% to 31% (DM) and an NDF content ratio of 31% to 72% (DM). Digestion trials of the Holstein Steer feed were tested by the total collection method using sheep. Result 1: TDN content can be predicted using a curvilinear regression equation with the NDF content/starch content as the independent variate. TDN content = -10.8 * In (NDF content/starch content) + 81.2 (R(2) : 0.914 SE : 2.6). Result 2: TDN contents can be predicted by using a multiple regression equation with the starch content and NDF content as independent variates. TDN content = -0.098 * starch content - 0.840 * NDF content + 111.3 (R2 : 0.987 SE : 1.2)
