We studied about the conditions necessary to get accurate nitrate-nitrogen content readings in forage by reflectometoric analysis that came into wide use recently due to its simplicity. Reproducibility of reflectometoric analysis was very high. However, data showed lower figure than the actual concentration more then 100 ppm NO3(-) in solution. Coexistence of Na(+) and k(+) brought no influence. When Cl(-) coexists, the figure for NO3(-) lowered in comparison with the case of no coexisting anion, and showed higher figure when SO4(2-) coexisted. It was suggested that we can get accurate nitrate-nitrogen content in forage by diluting NO3(-) concentration to less than 100 ppm and use standard additional method from the result of direct reflectometoric analysis and ion-chromatographic analysis of water immersed liquid of corn silage, oats hay, Sudangrass hay and alfalfa hay
