In order to minimize laber used during topdressing and maximize nutrient absorption and maximize nutrient absorption from fertilizers, a new method, the basal fertilizer application method, is studied. In this method, sigmoid-type coated fertilizer is mixed into culture soil for growing cabbage plug seedlings after which they are brought in the field at the time of planting. Results show that that seedlings fertilizer with LPS100 (1 g nitrogen contained in 2.5 g seedling) had better growth and yield than the standard method of spreading fertilizer on the whole surface of the field and mixing into the soil. Furthermore, the requirement for fertilizer was reduced by 42% and the rate of nitrogen recovery increased by 30-50% than the standard method. Therefore, the present method proves to be of great benefit
