Repeated alternate foliar sprays of strong acid and alkaline electrolyte at weekly intervals promoted fruit growth and increased soluble solids content in fruit of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) plants grown in a glasshouse. No or little difference was found in the shoot length or stem diameter between sprayed and control plots. Fungicidal effect of the strong electrolyte could not be evaluated because both treated and control plants were little infested by fungal diseases
