The wide area merger of agricultural cooperatives in Hokkaido progressed compared with other areas. However, in recent years, it is rapidly progressing due to the substantial change in the financial system and the weakening of agricultural cooperatives management. In this study we direct our attention to Touyako Agricultural cooperative, which is the first case of a wide area merger of agricultural cooperatives in Hokkaido. Touyako Agricultural cooperative has been in operation for ten years since its merger. The history of Touyako Agricultural cooperative is examined as well as the present stage of its organization and sales administration department. This thesis focuses on the farming guidance business and the marketing business. We also analyze the relationship between their development and local area agriculture. Based on this analysis, basis we summarize the experience of Touyako Agricultural cooperative and develop a lesson on the process of reorganization
