The present study was designed to examine the influence of follicular aspiration before superovulatory treatment, and of repeated superovulatory treatment at the short intervals on collection of embryos from uterus 7 days after insemination in Japanese black-cows with non-pregnant condition for a long time. Cows received a CIDR-B device (a drug containing progesterone: 1.9 g) into vagina at any stage of estrous cycle (Day 0). (Experiment-1) In 11 cows (total number of 40 cows), the period of non-pregnant condition was 493.9+-208.5 days, the collection of embryo from uterus was 3.6+-1.1 times, and the interval of repeated superovulatory treatment was 41.0+-13.3 days. A 5 MHz linear-transducer with needle (60 cm length, 18 G) connected to an ultrasound-guided scanner was used for the observation of follicles on both ovaries. Follicles observed were divided into 3 types according to their diameter (Small type: 2-4 mm, Middle type: 5-7 mm, Large type: 8 mm
