The characteristics of the co-operation between agri-co-ops and consumer's co-op

In this report I discussed the characteristics of the parties who have promoted the direct sales of vegetables to the Miyagi Consumer's Coop. Although there are various notable points about the producing districts of vegetables which are sold directly to the Miyagi Consumer's Coop, the most distinctive feature is the following: The Miyagi Consumer's Coop did not secure the main forces of the producing districts and producers of vegetables when it started dealing with the direct sales of vegetable. Instead, it joined hands with those who had been outside of the main steam of vegetable production. These farmer(s groups, agri-coops themselves have been critical with the present distribution system because their products were not accepted by the existing markets and they could not send their products there. For these reasons they had a tendency to be anti-agri-coops. The direct sales system has been established by these agri-coops who turned their backs on their family agri-coops, and also by farmer's groups and agri-coops' labor unions who have disagreed with most of the agri-coops about what an agri-coop should be. These farmer's groups, agri-coop workers and farmer's movements became essential in starting up the direct sales with the consumer's coop because they had several dis-advantages. First of all, they were ignored by the markets and they didn't have sufficient agricultural skills. Also they could not produce enough vegetables for the markets, and they could not get support form their agri-coops; etc
