Molluscs of the six major river system within the Subic Bay [Philippines] forest reserve

Quantitative analysis of the freshwater snails was conducted in the six major river systems within the Subic Bay Forest Reserve. A total of 12 species belonging to five genera and two families were identified. Mabayuan River has the most number of species present. This was followed by Minanga and Triboa Rivers, both had six molluscan species. Boton, Binilican and Ilanin Rivers obtained the lowest count, due to human perturbations. Melanoides asperata was the only species present in all sites
