Bleaching and washing for better quality silk

Procedure in silk bleaching were as follows: 1.) Weigh the silk fabric to be bleached; 2.) Prepare the bleaching solution based on the weight of silk using the liquor ratio of 1:30 with 25% hydrogen peroxide and 1% sodium silicate as stabilizing agent: 3.) Prepare bleaching solution base on 1 kg silk material. Computations for the volume of hydrogen peroxide, weight of sodium silicate and water are presented; 4.) Moisten the silk material with water and squeeze. Suspended in a smooth rod for one hour to remove excess water; 5.) Place the silk fabric in the bleaching solution for one hour and 30 minutes at a temperature of 80-90 deg C. Constantly rotate the silk fabric during the bleaching process; 6.) Remove the silk material from the bleaching bath and wash with lukewarm water. Repeat washing with tap water; 7.) Squeeze the silk fabric and air-dry; 8.) Wash the silk materials gently with mild soap; and 9.) Partially air-dry but never dry silk under the sun. Iron the silk while damp
