2000
Mehmood, S. | Fayyaz-ul-Hassan | Nisar, M. (University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi (Pakistan))
Field experiments were conducted to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative responses of wheat to N fertilization. Six combination of treatments were replicated four time arranged in randomized complete block design. Fertile tillers/unit area and number of grain/spike increased with N application over control Thousand seed weight, economic yield and biological yield also showed positive response to N application and splitting. Grain protein contents increased significantly when fertilizer was applied over unfertilized. During both the years response to fertilizer was similar however, response of yield and yield component was pronounced and clear during second year. However, protein accumulation during second year was not consistent.
