The studies were conducted to record the seasonal abundance, population pattern in various types of vegetations and feeding preference of grasshoppers in a particular site of the field. The maximum number of grasshoppers was recorded from the middle of the field followed by the corner whereas the minimum number was observed at the margin of the grassland. The number of grasshoppers on flowerbeds was significantly lower when compared with maize and itsit but at par statistically with grassland and fallow area. The maximum number of grasshoppers were accorded from maize crops which showed that these are the worst enemies of grain crops. The maximum population of grasshoppers was observed from mid September to mid. October.
