This manuscript deals with the response of potato cv. Desiree to earthing up at different stages of growth. The experiment was conducted at Agriculture Research Institute (ARI), Tarnab during autumn season of 1996-97. Five different treatment i.e. No earthing-up, two, three, four and five weeks after the completion of emergence were applied to potato cv. Desiree. Plant height, plant spread, number of stems and tubers per plant and yield per hectare were recorded statistically significant. The highest value for plant height (51.75 cm.) plant spread (48.88 cm), number of stems per plant (4.47), number of tubers per plant (8.25) and yield per hectare (18.23 t/ha) were noted in plots earthed-up two weeks after the completion of tuber emergence. Earthing-up two weeks after the completion of tuber emergence is recommended for the grower of Peshawar region.
