Usefulness of Simental as a breed in an aspect of results obtained during breeding value evaluation of bulls in selected countries

Basing on body weight, daily gains, height at whither and chest girth the growth of young Simental test bulls in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Poland was evaluated. Obtained results showed great differentiation in growth parameters between young breeding bulls from the West Europe and the Mid-East Europe. Young bulls in Austria, Germany and Switzerland reached absolutely highest values of all evaluated parameters. The second, evidently worse group of similar parameters constitued the bulls from Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Poland
