Effects of enriched rice straw compost on plant nutrients and yield of crops grown in acid sulfate soils

Effects of enriched rice straw compost on plant nutrient and yield of crop grown in acid sulfate soil was studied. Rangsit, acid sulfate soil, was examined in the investigation. Glutamic mother liguor, chicken manure, and filer cake were used to enrich rice straw compost. Corn was used as indicator crop. The results indicated that enriched rice straw composts were effectively increased available N and available P content in acid sulfate soil. The amount of available N and available P in acid soil either amended with enriched rice straw compost with filter cake and GML were higher than those in acid sulfate soil amended with chemical fertilizer. In gereral, dry matter yield, total N uptake total P uptake and total K uptake of corn grown in acid sulfate soil amended with enriched rice straw compost with GML or amended with enriched rice straw compost with chicken manure were rather equal to those of the corn grown in acid sulfate soil amended with chemical fertilizer. Dry matter yield, total N uptake, total P uptake and total K uptake of corn grown in acid sulfate soil amended with either enriched rice straw compost with chicken manure and GML or enriched rice straw compost with chicken manure and GML or amended with enriched rice straw compost with filter cake and GML were higher than those of corn grown in acid sulfate soil amended with chemical fertilizer.
