Efficiency of some selected organic wastes as nitrogen sources for baby corn (Zea mays L.) planted in Kamphaeng Saen soil

Field trials on organic waste materials (OWMs) namely castor meal, activated sludge cake, compost, and effluent of biogas production from swine waste, as N-source for baby corn were conducted in Kamphaeng Saen soil. The results indicated that all OWMs could produce corn yield, in terms of numbers of total and marketable ears (4-13 cm long), and total N in ear and straw as high as chemical fertilizer (IF) 15 kgN/rai could. However, large-size marketable ears (10-13 cm) were found to be higher in th IF than those in the OWMs.
