Objective of this research was to study the delay of deterioration of wet paddy by ventilation. The first and second bins were ventilated continuously by cool air with temperature of 15 deg C (+-4 deg C) and by ambient air respectively while the third one was not ventilated and considered as the control bin. With an air flow rate of 0.35 cubic m/min/cubic m of paddy. Moisture content of paddy in the first bin was reduced from 22.2 percent to 14 percent wet-basis within 34 days while the final moisture content of paddy in the second bin was only 18 percent wet-basis. The quality of paddy in terms of whiteness indicated that ventilation by ambient air was better than without ventilation and ventilation by cool air gave the best whiteness and head yield.
