The thesis deals with studying the effect of the antioxidants introduced into the content of whole milk substitutes (WMS) on the calves growth and metabolism efficiency. Innovative aspect of the work is as follows: the effectiveness of application of various rates of the Phenosan and Anphen to WMS at drinking it to calves up to 3 mnths is studied. Their effect is examined on the intensity of growth, digestability, nitrogen balance morphological and biochemical indices of blood. The dynamics is examined of quality indices for bony, beef and pig fats in the course of 6 mnths storage depending on the terms of Phenosan application. Application of Phenosan and Anphen at the rates 0.5 mg and 0.2-0.5 mg per kilogram of calves' living weight correspondingly is found to be the most effective. The advisability of introducing Phenosan and Anphen into the content of WMS while growing calves in milk period is proved. This provides increase in living weight by 13.6-21.7 % and reduces feed consumption for 1 kg weight gain by 14.9-16.4 %
