The study is aimed at the development of new methods of raising egg laying performance of chicken by means of using stabilizing selection and estimation according to the level of the relationship between living mass and size of the metatarsus. The advisability is found of growing the replacement chicken in equal weight groupings. Selection of laying chicken according to their living weight/metetarsus length relationship at the age of 120 days is proved to be effective
