Involving modern techniques of genetic mapping allowed to achieve significant results in creating a genetic map of the rye genome as well as in mapping some morphologically and selectionally valuable genes. Genetic mapping of such cereals' genomes as rye, wheat, maize and rice with the use of the same set of DNA probes allowed to reveal the evolutional conservatism in genes organization and localization, which makes it possible to use effectively a comparative mapping method for rapid genes localization and marking in the genomes of less studied species
