[Inheritance of the traits of the resistance to fungal diseases by distant hybrids of wheat with amphiploids]

Motsny, I.I. | Lyphenko, S.F. | Koval, T.N.
Inheritance is examined of resistance to true mildew, leaf rust and septoriosis by hybrids obtained as a result of crossing wheat and rye amphiploids as well as wheat and elymus ones with hard and soft wheats. The spontaneous hybridization is supposed to be the key factor of a form-creating process which determines appearance of the new valuable traits at intravarietal crossing. In Elytricum fertile the traits of the resistance to leaf rust and leaf plate fluffiness are found to be controlled by an outside chromosome, whereas in H74/90-258 these traits are not linked and controlled correspondingly by one and two genes. In the course of crossing octoploid amphiploids with the hard wheat the introgression of the foreign resistance traits into wheat is conducted much easier than while crossing with the soft wheat. Constant homozygote lines are isolated with the group resistance to the diseases examined
