Experiments for the characteristics of some waxy corn varieties was carried out at experimental site of Agronomy Department of University of Agriculture and Forestry, Thu Duc district Hochiminh City from August to December 1998. Following waxy corn varieties were used for experiments : Binh Chanh, Binh Duong, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, Mitsham (Thailand), VN-2, Vung Tau. Preliminary results from this experiment showed that the VN-2 variety had the early maturity with well growing up and strong stem. In addition, this variety had the highest yield in comparison to other varieties on the grey soil in Thu Duc district. The others had the growing time from very short to long and low yield
