Some results of study on biology of G.Cromion

Stuied on biological characteristic of the egg parasitoid aryon cromion Kozolov et Le were carried out in Hanoi Agriculture Unversity by Vietnam-russia Tropical Center. G.cromion completes its life cycle in from 14.08 day (at 28.8oC, 70 percent RH) to 17.62 days (at 23.49oC, 88.9 percent RH). The mean longevity of adults varies depending upon food which they feed on and ranged from 9.2 days (feed on water) to 39.11 days (feed on bee honey). The females can give 9.2-70.5 offsprings depending upon food which they feed on. The bee honey is the best food for them. The G.cromion parasitism plays an important role to control Cletus punctiger population on the rice field. An average of parasite rate on C.punctiger eggs by G.cromion was registered as 38.03-17.38 percent in rice spring season in Gia Lam, Ha Noi
