Coconut beetle was discovered in 1999 in HoChiMinh City at the same time as other provinces in Mekong delta area as Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Tien Giang.. Lots of damage caused by coconut beetle were informed. Reseatches on habit, damage and control measures were recorded. Test on chemical control showed that coconut beetle was easily controlled by chemical if spraying method was carried out appropriately, carefully, however, coloured trap has no attractive efficacy against coconut beetle
