There were studied the genetic variability and interdependence of alfalfa yield components and dry matter quality in four-year trial carried out with 10 alfalfa varieties. There were analyzed green forage yield, dry matter yield, cutting contribution to total yield, plant height 15 days after the equinox and cutting, stem length, mid-leaflet length and width, internode number, internode length, stem diameter, leaf contribution to dry matter yield, crude protein content (CP), crude cellulose content (CC), fatty substance content (FSC), mineral substance content (MSC), and nitrogen-free extractive substance percentage (NES).
