Control of glass bottles for beer packing

Glass bottles of 0.5 litres, with "B" type neck and with crown corks, were tested. After bottle sampling from production process, dimension control of height, bottle neck diameter and deviation of axis from vertical was carried out. Physical, chemical and mechanical properties of bottles were also tested. Final control of beer bottling was also carried out. Test results indicate that the tested bottles partly deviate from the norms prescribed by the standards. The deviations determined with the tested bottles are not high and they can be successfully used in large-scale beer production. In relation to other packaging materials, glass has great advantages.
