Inheritance of earliness in F1 diallel hybrids of eggplant [Solanum melongena L.]

According to analysis of five lines and their ten hybrids of F1 generation it can be concluded that the shortes period of sprouting to flourishing is noticed at parental genotypes of line K11 (73.33) while F1 hybrids have the best crossing combination for earliness at K35 x K11 (73.33). The hybrid vigour was very expressed for the period of sprouting to flourishing. The highest value of heterosis (-8.71%) was at hybrid K35 x K22/2. The best values for general combining ability were shown at lines K35 x K36/1, while the best values for special combining ability were shown at K35 x K22/2 and K35 x K12.
