Effect of harvest date on the quality of buds and leaves of brussels sprouts for human diet

The studied brussels sprout cultivar exhibited a high quality of buds and leaves, the latter being superior to the former in all quality parameters save protein content. Brussels sprout leaves are thus recommended as a quality foodstuff for the winter period. The quality of buds and leaves remained at a high level after harvest on January 11. The quality of buds and leaves after harvest in early March was reduced only in respect to the contents of dry matter and sugars.
