Nutritive value of the filbert fruit

Studies of the chemical composition of filbert seeds showed that its major nutritive components are water, proteins and oil. These components were found in seeds samples 15 days after the extraction of achenes from cupules. Water content ranged from 3% to 6%, which is consideres as an optimal value for achene storage. Total proteins ranged from 16% to 21%. Oil content varied from 60% to 80%. The other nutritive values will be present in the paper. The results of chemical analyses indicate high nutritive value of filbert kernels, as well as possibility of their usage in nutrition, like medicinal position planting filbert and uses fruit food processing industry.
