Nutrition surveys and recent clinical findings with human patients suggest that marginal or mild zinc deficiency may be widespread in developed nations. Consequently, human zinc deficiency may represent a significant health concern throughout the world particularly during adolescence, pregnancy, old age, stress or disease.
