Study of Yugoslavian and Bulgarian winter wheat potential for durable resistance to Puccinia recondita tritici

Eleven Bulgarian and thirteen Yugoslavian winter wheat varieties beside extremely susceptible control Michigan Amber were tested in Plant Protection Institute in Kostin Brod, Bulgaria in 1999 and some in 1998. Yugoslavian varieties were estimated on the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops Experimental Fields in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia, from 1994-1999, also. Data were correlated in order to estimate the stability and durability of the resistance expression. By the available results Yugoslavian varieties are the richer source of the genes for the durable resistance. Higher level of the resistance is discovered in the varieties Pesma and Prjaspa.
