Using of phosphogypsum as an additional source of calcium for acid soils

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of phosphogypsum on the soil acidity as an additional calcium source. The agrochemical properties and neutralization ability of phosphogypsum as an appropriate ameliorant for acid soils were established. The favourable effect of phosphogypsum on the crop yields was shown. The results of our study showed the possibility to use the accumulated huge amounts of phosphogypsum in Bulgaria.
