Investigation on adaptive trophic capacities of colorado beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata say)

The results show that the trend of the changes in the indices caracterising the adaptation tropic abilities of the population grown in a nutrient medium such as potatoes and aubergines, was unidirectional, i. e. the development duration was reduced to one generation, the average weight of a larva of L4 was increased and the death rate was decreased. Tomatoes proved to be the most unpreffered host. Sometime later, however, the colorado potato beetle also adapted to it.
