[WEEDS POBLATION MANAGMENT WITH POSTEMERGENCE HERBICIDES AND MANUAL LABORS IN THE POTATO CROP BOGOTA] | Manejo de las poblaciones de malezas con herbicidas posemergentes y labores manuales en el cultivo de la papa en la sabana de Bogotá

Three experiments were carried out at the Centro Agropecuario Marengo of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, located at Mosquera, Cundinamarca, with the purpose of evaluate the efficiency of Postemergence Herbicides (rimsulfuron and metribuzin + propaquizafop) in weeds control in combination with manual labor (weeding and hilling). Experiments were made with three different potato varieties: "Capiro", "Pastusa" and "Criolla". The experimental design used in all cases was to divide the plots with covariable and two factors: manual labors and herbicides treatment. The effect on the weed population was measure by three factors: covering, and the potato yield. In the three experiments, the blind test was the treatment with the lowest values of covert, with values below 30 and controls between 85 and 95. In the "Capiro" variety, the mixture of metribuzin (700 g i.a/ha) and propaquizafop (100 g.i.a./ha) allowed a control of the arvenses between 80 and 90. In the "Pastusa" variety, the arvense control during all the experiment was above 87 with rimsulfuron applied in doses of 17.5 g i.a./ha; between 76 and 95 with 12.5 g i.a./ha and between 65 and 95 with 10 g i.a./ha, the same range when metribuzin (700 g i.a./ha) + propaquizafop (100 g i.a./ha) was used. In the"Criolla" variety, rimsulfuron at the 21.25 g i.a./ha and 23.75 g i.a./ha gave a general control above the 93. The highest yield (24 yield) was obtained in the "Pastusa" variety with rimsulfuron applied in doses higher than 12.5 g i.a./ha with manual labor. There were no symptoms of fitotoxicity on the potato. Results suggest that if not necessary to use weeding while using herbicides; you can obtain acceptable potato yields controlling weeds with herbicides complemented with hilling labor

Se realizaron tres experimentos en el Centro Agropecuario "Marengo" de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, ubicado en el municipio de Mosquera (Cundinamarca) con el objetivo de evaluar la eficacia de herbicidas posemergentes (rimsulfuron y metribuzina + propaquizafop) en el control de las malezas en combinación con labores manuales (desyerba y aporque). Se efectuaron experimentos que correspondían cada uno a tres variedades: "Capiro"; "Pastusa" y "Criolla". El diseño experimental empleado en todos los casos fue de parcelas divididas con covariable y dos factores (labores y tratamiento de herbicidas). La respuesta de las poblaciones de malezas se evaluó mediante la cobertura, el control de los arvenses y el rendimiento de la papa. En los tres experimentos, el tratamiento con menores valores de cobertura fue el testigo siempre limpio, con valores no superiores al 30 por ciento y con controles entre el 85 y el 95 por ciento. En "Capiro", la mezcla de metribuzina (700 g i.a/ha) + propaquizafop (100 g i.a./ha) permitió un control general de las arvenses del 80 al 90 por ciento. En "Pastusa", se obtuvó un control, durante todo el transcurso del experimento, mayor al 87 por ciento con rimsulfuron aplicado en dosis de 17.5 g i.a./ha; entre 76 y 95 por ciento con 12.5 g i.a./ha y entre el 65 y 95 por ciento con 10 g i.a./ha, rango que fue igual con metribuzina (700 g i.a/ha) + propaquizafop (100 g i.a./ha). En "Criolla", rimsulfuron a 21.25 g i.a./ha y 23.75 g i.a./ha proporcionó un control general superior al 93 por ciento. Los mayores rendimientos (en un 24 por ciento) de "Pastusa" se obtuvieron con rimsulfuron aplicado en dosis superior a 12.5 g i.a./ha, acompañado de labores manuales. No se presentaron síntomas de fitotoxicidad en la papa. Finalmente, los resultados sugieren que no sería necesario realizar desyerbas cuando se usan herbicidas; de manera que se pueden obtener rendimientos aceptables de papa controlando las malezas con una aplicación de herbicidas complementado solamente con la labor del aporque
