[Biological appearance of Planudes cortex Hebard (PHASMIDA:PSEUDOPHASMATIDAE) and phatogenesis test with fungus insect nematodes] | Aspectos biológicos de Planudes cortex Hebard (PHASMIDA:PSEUDOPHASMATIDAE) y pruebas de patogenicidad con hongos entomopatógenos en condiciones de laboratorio.

Inmature and adult stages of Planudes cortex Hebard (Phasmidae: Pseudophasmatidae) were collected in one active focus of this Pinus patula foliage pest, located in Pensilvania, Caldas in order to establish rearing in the laboratory of integrated manage of forest pest and disease of the Corporacion Nacional de Investigacion y Fomento Forestal- CONIF conditions in temperature conditions of 15oC +/-2 and 80% of H.R. In this rearing conditions, characteristics of biology, external morfology, measurement and behavior was observed for each one of the develop stage of this stick insect, as well as, the patogenic effect of inoculations with the entomopathogenic fungi: Metarhizium sp., Paecilomyces sp., Beauveria bassiana, B. brogniartii and two isolation obtained from insects founded in natural conditions in the field. Inoculation was done in eggs, ninfal and adult stage of P. cortex. in laboratory conditions. P. cortex cycle life was finished in average of 393 days for the female and 390 for male, having egg, five ninfal instars an adult stage. From all entomopatogenic isolations evaluated, with Metarhizium sp. over 80% of mortality percentage was obtained in first and second ninfal instars.
