A work was done to evaluated the effect of the herbicide atrazine under different absorption systems on the soil, over arbuscular mycorrhizas, AM, Glomus manihotis y Entrophopora colombiana and native species from Saldaña, Tolima, Colombia, associated with corn plants, evaluated by growing and development parameters of the plant. To obtain this objective, the plants were sowed on pots divided on two levels using a meshes system, which allowed having four different absortion systems on the lower level of the soil, where in one case only the hyphal system comes in contact with the same a trird one were only the roots show and the last without exporation on the lower level. The herbicide was only applied to the lower level in a commercial amount at 1,5kg ai*ha-1, and was compared with control treatments where it was not apply. It was found that the atrazine did not affect significantly the benefit of arbuscular mycorrhizas under any absorption system. Se realizó un estudio para evaluar el efecto del herbicida atrazina bajo diferentes sistemas de absorción edáfica, sobre las cepas de micorrizas arbusculares, MA, Glomus manihotis y Entrophospora colombiana del CIAT y especies nativas provenientes de Saldaña, Tolima, Colombia, asociadas con plantas de maíz. Se midieron variables del crecimiento y desarrollo de la planta, 66 días después del establecimiento del experimento. Para lograr este objetivo, se sembraron plantas de maíz en materos con suelo dividido en dos capas mediante el uso de un sistema de malla que permitía tener cuatro doferentes sistemas de absorción edáfica en la capa inferior. En un caso, sólo el sistema hifal entraba en contacto con la capa inferior, dividiendo el suelo con malla mesh 400 e inoculando con hongos formadores de micorrizas arbusculares,; otro donde tanto el sistema radical como el hifal entraban en contacto con la misma, dividiendo el suelo con malla mesh 17 e inoculando con hongos formadores de micorrizas arbusculares, un tercero donde solamente las raíces llegan a esta capa, dividiendo el suelo con malla mesh 17 y sin inoculación, por último, sin exploración en la capa inferior, dividiendo el suelo con malla mesh 4000 y sin inoculación,. El herbicida se aplicó en la capa inferior del suelo del matero a una dosis de 1,5 kg de ia*ha-1. Se tuvieron testigos sin atrazina. Se encontró que la atrazina no afectó significativamente la actividad micorrízica en ningún sistema de absorción. También, al compararlos sistemas de absorción, se encontró que el mejor sistema es el que permite, que tanto la raíz como el sistema hifal, exploren las dos capas del suelo, seguido por el sistema radical o hifal explorando la capa inferior. También se confirmó que las micorrizas presentan un efecto benéfico sobre el maíz evidenciado por materia seca, de la parte aérea, y altura de las plantas. Adicionalmente, se evaluó la absorción y translocación de atrazina por parte de micorrizas en asocio con plantas de avena, utilizando 14C-atrazina. La absorción del herbicida exclusivamente por el sistema hifal se comparó con la absorción del sistema radical de la planta. Se encontró que las micorrizas absorben y translocan cantiddaes muy pequeñas de atrazina que no alcanzan a causar un efecto fitotóxico sobre la avena. No hubo diferencias en absorción entre las cepas de hongos formadores de MA G. manihotis y E. colombiana
