Impact of agrotechnical measures on occurrence of Carabidae (Coleoptera) in cereal cultures
2001
Stastna, P. | Bezdek, J. | Hartman, I. (Mendelova Zemedelska a Lesnicka Univ., Brno (Czech Republic))
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of the main agrotechnical measures (plant protection, fertilizing, harvest, stubble ploughing) on the number and species diversity of carabid beetles in winter wheat and spring barley cultures in the Czech Republic. Pitfall samples of beetles were collected in three babitats (Zabcice, Kromeriz and Telc) in 1999 and 2000 and analysed. It was found that only the stubble ploughing lead to a distinctly decreased number of autumn species, i.e. Pterostichus melanarius and Pseudoophonus rufipes, whereas the harvest has no influence. Spring species such as Poecilus cupreus and Anchomenus dorsalis were found only in very small numbers and the influence of agrotechnical measures could not be evaluated.
