Effect of stock types and planting technologies on pine plantations establishment
2000
Kriegel, H. (Vyzkumny Ustav Lesniho Hospodarstvi a Myslivosti, Opocno (Czech Republic). Vyzkumna Stanice)
The growth and state of health of pine plantations planted by various stock types (1/0 Paperpots, 1/0 2J0, 1/1 barerooted plants, direct seeding) and by various planting techniques (planting into holes, by planting bar, by planting machine, natural regeneration) were investigated on sandy soils in the region Polabi. Growth of pines in the first age class (10 years after planting) was still related to initial size of used planting stock. State of health - particularly rate of damage by Armillaria mellea seemed to be influenced by root deformations formed during nursery cultivation or by planting techniques.
