The aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical findings, diagnostics, and treatment of bacterial and fungal corneal ulcerations in horses are described in this article. Besides the topical medications, the possibility of surgical treatment is mentioned. Special attention is paid to the corneal stromal abscess that is difficult to diagnose and to treat.
