A study was conducted to investigate the body weight changes of male cattle grazing natural pasture at Bako. Body weight changes of 40 Horro male cattle and their crosses (26 Horro and 14 crosses) grazing natural pasture for three years (1994-1996) was evaluated at the Bako research centre. The weight changes were calculated using statistical analysis systems (SAS, 1987). The over all mean body weight changes of animals were 66 plus or minus 25 gm/head/day. Breed, age group. season, year and their interactions significantly (p0.01) affected weight changes of cattle. The study demonstrated that strategic supplementation should be practised during all seasons.
