The effect of UV-light on the larval growth, cocoon characters and silk quality of mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori L. were investigated in two popular bivoltine hybrids, Jufang (Chinese) x Chenxin (Japanese) and Chenxin x Jufang. The larvae of first day of fifth instar were used for the present investigation. The larvae were irradiated with 20W of UV-light at the intensity of 40 cm above the larvae and three exposure times (30 min, 60 min and 120 min) were given just before feeding. The results suggest that UV-light of 30 minutes has no effect on growth of larvae, fecundity rate, cocoon characters and silk quality. Whereas the larvae exposed to 120 minutes showed significant decrease in the percent of survival, larval growth, fecundity rate, cocoon characters and silk quality when compared to larvae exposed to 60 minutes
