Nowadays in the everyday small animal practice the need is more and more increasing for cytological and histological examination by both veterinarians and owners. The authors intention is therefore to provide help to taking samples from skin disorders and from tumours, and to the correct interpretation of cytological and histological results. The aim of this series of articles is also to call the attention of practitioners to the importance of clinicopathological examinations.
