Regarding the numerous excellent natural scientists and technical inventors of the XIX. century, the mining engineer, geologist and hidrogeologist Vilmos Zsigmondy (1821-1888) was the one who developed in Hungary the scientifically established deep-boring activity aimed at water-exploitation begins with the appearance of Vilmos Zsigmondy. The launching of the exploitation of healthy drinking water, thermal-, mineral- and medicinal waters from subsurface layers is connected with his name.
