Experiment to drying process to study equilibrium moisture content and drying rate of crop grain was conducted in the Research Institute for Maize and Other Cereals at 1993/1994 and at 1996/1997. Two types of dryer were used; rack dryer and bed dryer type. Rack type was the dryer which has energy source from electricity for heater and for operation. Another dryer was bed dryer type which has energy source from kerosene for heating and electricity for fan operation. Grain of rice, maize, soybean and mungbean were used as material in this research. Equilibrium moisture content with relative humidity was determined due to Henderson's equation by calculating the constants c and n. Drying rate was determined by calculating the decrease in grain moisture content every drying hour. The value of constants c and n were: 1.391x10 at the power of -5 and 1.91 for rice; 1.151x10 at the power of -5 and 1,90 for maize, 2.749x10 at the power of -5 and 1,45 for soybean; and 3.201x10 at the power of -5 and 1,52 for mungbean. Soybean has higher equilibrium moisture content compared to rice, maize and mungbean. The constant drying rate period for rice and maize was occurred at two hours after drying was started. Mungbean and soybean grain had their constant drying rate period two five hours after drying was started
