English. A research of technology adoption, technology demonstration and crop index of pepper based farming system was conducted in UPT Nangabulik Central Kalimantan by using survey method. The purpose of the research was to show a. the role of technology demonstration in increasing the willingness of the farmers in adopting the technology b. the crop index of the pepper based farming system as an indicator for income level. The data were analyzed by using non parametric Wilcoxon sign rank test and cropping intensity index (CII). The result showed that the technology demonstration of the pepper based farming system had a significant effect in increasing the willingness of the farmers in adoption the technology, so that the development of the pepper based farming system in UPT Nangabulik would go faster. An economic of scale area of the pepper based farming system in Nangabulik would be achieved in around two years. The crop index of the pepper based farming system was 215.30 percent meaning the levels of efficiency of the pepper based farming system was 215.30 percent higher than the traditional farming system in Nangabulik. In other words the pepper based farming system increase the farmer income by 215.30 percent (ceteris paribus). Comparing with the land in Java cropped with paddy and had crops index of 300 percent the pepper based farming system in Nangabulik would give higher income to the farmer after 5 years

Adopsi teknologi dan indeks pertanaman pola usaha tani berbasis lada (Piper nigrum L.) di UPT Nangabulik, Kalimantan Tengah bertujuan untuk melihat a. peran gelar teknologi sebagai salah satu bentuk penelitian pengembangan terhadap tanggap petani, b. tingkat efisiensi penggunaan lahan melalui pendekatan indeks pertanaman merupakan salah satu indikator tingkat pendapatan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey melalui analisis statistika non parametrik yaitu model uji jenjang bertanda Wilcoxon. Sedangkan indeks pertanaman diukur melalui model CII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gelar teknologi sebagai salah satu bentuk penelitian pengembangan sangat nyata peranannya. Pengembangan pola tanam berbasis lada di UPT Nangabulik yang diproses secara bergulir lebih cepat dalam waktu kurang lebih 2 tahun akan tercapai areal pola tanam berbasis lada dalam skala ekonomi. Indeks pertanaman yang didapat 215.30 persen berarti petani dapat memanfaatkan lahannya dua kali secara tradisional dengan asumsi jenis tanaman dan teknologinya sama maka pendapatan petani akan meningkat lebih besar dua kali. Bila dibandingkan dengan daerah irigasi teknis di Jawa dengan IP 300 persen komoditas padi dan palawija sudah barang tentu petani di UPT Nangabulik dengan pola tanam berbasis lada dalam waktu 5 tahun pendapatannya akan lebih besar
