The present study was conducted on 534 adult goats (198, Black Bengal, 201, Jamunapari x Black and 135, Beetal X Black Bengal) maintained under simi-intensive system of management. A series of prediction equations were developed to predict body weight on the basis of 9 body biometrics. The results revealed that the body weight of goats irrespective of genotype could be predicted with high reliability value (R2) on the basis of single variate equation with body length, heart-girth, paunch-girth, and depth of body at withers, between 12th-13th Thoracic vertebrace and in front of sacrum. The consideration of more than one variate in an equation is of little importance.
