Results of field experiment conducted revealed that both plant density and nitrogen levels had significant effect on grain yield. Increased plant height, drymatter production, productive tillers and reduced number of total and filled grains per panicle and 1000-grain weight was observed with increase in plant density from 33 to 100 hills m-2. Grain and straw yields were also increased with increase in plant density, whereas, all growth, yield attributes and yield were increased with inicrease in nitrogen application from o - 120 kg ha-1. The interaction effect are found non significant.
