Evaluation of potato germplasm for characters important in true potato seed production

Thirty-one early bulking tuberosum accessions as females and 8 accessions as males were evaluated for their suitability in TPS production at CPRS, Kufri (HP). On the basis of % pollination success, number of seeds/berry, number of seeds/flower pollinated, average berry wt. and 100 seed wt., 6 female and 3 male parents have been identified for utilisation in TPS programme.
