Phosphorus efficiency of different potato cultivars

Comparison of 5 potato cultivars during 1999 and 2000 for phosphorus efficiency revealed that Kufri Badshah was P-inefficient whereas cvs. Kufri Jyoti, Kufri Chandramukhi and Kufri Ashoka and Kufri Jawahar were P-efficient. Cultivars with low internal P requirement, high P-influx and low DMA (dry matter accumulation) rate per unit root were expected to be P-efficient.
