During a 70 year period (1924-1994) Lithuanian plant breeders developed four cultivars of white clover (Trifolium repens L.) - 'Bitunai', 'Atoliai', 'Suduviai' and 'Medunai'. Three of them are included in the National Variety List. Dry matter yield varied during the vegetative growth period, and depended on precipitation, number of cuts, and was determined by genetic characteristics
