Factors affecting calf mortality in buffaloes

Overall mortality rate was 2.45 and 24.78, 14.13 and 19.22 and 9.47 % in male and female buffalo calves at the three experiment stations. Still births accounted for 3.60 % of all births. The incidence of abortion was 2.6 %. Age of dam had significant correlation with calf mortality. The birth weight of calf had a significant correlation with calf mortality. Calving season and age of calf had non-significant relationship with calf mortality.
